What started out with a dozen or so friends out in the Big Backyard at my old place on Fullerton to celebrate my old roommate Steve's birthday has evolved (de-volved?) into a vertiable Summer Classic and our third year on the new SkyDeck. I am delighted to announce that for 2008 the tradition continues with our 10th Annual drinkstravaganza at Party Central which as always is the Saturday night after the Air & Water Show. My guess is the crew from Taste of Hoevel will probably spill in too again.
The scoop:
When: Saturday, August 16th starting around 9pm
Where: The SkyDeck @ Party Central - 933 W. Wolfram, Rooftop. Just East of the L (you can see the brand new Diversey Brown Line stop from my roofdeck) and East of Sheffield (Cherry Red is at the corner). Please enter up the back stairs off the alley.
What: PARTY!!!! As always beer (several kegs), mixed drinks, snacks, maybe a little wine and an evening under the stars with friends old and new will of course be provided per ritual and tradition. If you're a wine or mixed drink aficionado, additional bottles are always appreciated to help the cause as the turnout has become way more than I can afford to pay for on my own. Ice is a plus too at events of this size.
And of course feel free to bring as many FRIENDS as you like. If the SkyDeck fills up like it did last year, the party can overflow onto my back deck and stairs (and inside too but hopefully the weather will allow this to be a mainly outdoor event) and even if need be into my parking spaces.
New this year I have even more lights up on the Skydeck (which I think can now be seen from space), and always the early birds could even see my custom-fabricated keg hoist (no more lugging half barrels by hand up to the roof!) and of course the kick butt sound system that can drown out the L!
In the meantime, I will go to church, mosque, synagogue, and even pay homage to the pagan weather gods every day to pray for favorable weather. Hope to see you on Sat 8/16!!
p.s. next outdoor movie night on the Skydeck will be on Sunday night, August 24 with Monday, Labor Day 9/1 as the rain date. Headline movie will be Batman Begins, with Reno:911 The Movie as the other feature.
Party on,
Fuji
